As researchers registered with the Spatial Analysis Labs know, researchers using applied spatial science can spend significant time in front of a computer on their geospatial work in addition to any time in the field, in more traditional science labs and doing the necessary reading and writing of academic life.
To offer increased connectivity to SAL Users, there is now a SAL Slack available for those who have registered their research with us: https://geospatial-talk.slack.com/
I have set up several initial channels, based on topics that often come up for discussion in technical support situations:
I have also linked aspects of my work calendar to my slack account; so that users can see my immediate availability – if they are wondering if it is worth trying to catch me on the fly…
While I will only be available on the slack during business hours, members can leave questions in the channels that may be answered sooner by other Slack members. I will see them too, as soon as I am back on the job 🙂
If you already have a registered project and would like to join the SAL Slack contact us and I will send you an invitation
